problem: sms memory full (9300)

Hi, apparently my 9300 stores the sms in the SIM memory instead of the phone memory... After about 15-20 messages are received and answered to I'm getting a message "SIM memory full - free memory to receive sms". I've got plenty (70Mb) memory available on the phone memory, and can't see why they are (or would be) stored in the SIM. Is there any way to change this, or will it be better if I hard reboot the device? I know for sure it can't be redirected to the MMS card, but I would have expected that the device memory was available for this. And I can't find anywhere in the (rather slim) documentation how to direct messages to the phone memory.... Help!!!

By default the 9300 sould be storing all incoming messages in phone memory and not the SIM.

To see the SIM messages press the "Messages" key, then the "Menu" key and then in the "Receive" menu choose "SIM messages".
