weird problems with 9290

I recently bought an unlocked 9290 - it works fine with my SIM except for some weird application errors - I cant seem to install anything as it cant seem to see any files I have on my MMC card other than the folders. I get some very weird error messages trying to run files that do show up. Is there a known way to strip the phone back to "new" and reinstall the packaged apps on teh Nokia site, then install the 3rd party apps out there? I reset the phone to default but it really had no effect at all. I'd strongly appreciate any help the community could offer me on this, I love the idea of getting this phone up and running and useable on business trips.
Thanks,
ne0shell

Have you tried reformatting the MMC card? From your description it looks like it could be corrupted.

To reset the the phone to default, just format the internal disk and the MMC card and then reinstall all the software (you can download it from the support pages at Nokia). To format the internal disk, reboot the communicator and watch the PDA screen. As soon as the color of the white changes, press Ctrl+Shift+F. This will bring up a message to format the internal disk. Alternatively, you can format both disks from PC Suite.

BTW. Some brands of MMC (notably SanDisk) don't work in the Communicator. Also, if you have an older firmware version, the maximum size of MMC card you can use in the Communicator is 128Mb.

Hope this helps

I was able to find a way to reformat the phone which solved the application errors, formatting my MMC card allows me to install some apps but it seems hard to find series 80 applications. I get errors regarding series 60 and series 80 someting being missing - I'd love to be able to install and use a movie player that plays divx/xvid files etc. I just found this section the other day so I plan to spend some time searching otu the links to skins and files etc. Thanks for your advice.
