Im in Australia and purchased the 3230 as I had waited for ages. Ive gotta say I think my 3230 is awesome. Sounds like you might have a bit of a dud. Mine takes excellent quality photos (doesnt have the problem yours has) and have never had the restart problem (as far as ive seen). For the money i wreckon its a good buy and will do me untill the successor of the 6680 comes out.

Cheers
Luko

Exclamation my review

Hello from Istanbul..
Before I ask my important question below, I'd like to give some personal reviews:
I got my 3230 4 days ago. I love the appearence honestly. However, I think that the technology speed is no more faster than the speed of our fingers. I'm already tired of the slow menu. It reminds me using Windows XP with 64MB Ram
The phone has restarted itself unexpectedly 2-3 times while navigating.
I don't talk much but the battery is already off in 18 hours
With enough light, pic quality is perfect!
Too many useless things in menu. I already put many of them in one single folder.
Today, I discovered that you can voice-command some menu items (like profiles, bluetooth, etc. but nıt many) However, during the time it recognizes the voice, I can already choose what I want manually.
The pictures you add to your contacts are still tiny. In K700, I could see the contact's big pic even when I get an sms.
The joystick cannot be assigned for menu items. I mean, you cannot change the assigned ones. Just the right and left button
And, I hate I cannot use T9 Turkish becoz when I use Turkish characters, my operator charges 2, even 3 sms!!! (I know, it's nothing to do with you). This wasn't happening with Siemens or SE.

And my concern (please reply): When I'm in at menu window, I realize the menu icons make me feel like I'm using a 4096-color screen!! They are NOT clear, icons have dots on them. Ok, the theme is not like that, the color is smooth but the icons drive me crazy. Also, you know the progress bar, it has a very small shadow and the color is not smooth as well. It's with dots. My version is V 3,0505,2 RM-51. If I can just find someone using 3230, I'll check this but this model is very new yet here...

I hope next version recovers these silly things..

I got mine 7 days ago.
Wanted it badly for 2 months because it just looked good. When I got it a few things irritated me, eg, the buttons were very stiff, and the top row of number buttons not mean for fat thumbed people (for me it was ok tho I would press the metal separator once and a while.

The jump between apps is slow...

The buttons are very intuitive, eg, I have pressed the joy stick down institively to activate the main menu...makes sense but it does not.

The old symbian os for 7250 etc (my old phone) allowed me to write and then add numbers to send, makes more sense...

While in writing sms mode, you cannot just go back if you abort, it is either save or go to screen saver!!!

Some apps are in finnish!!

and now my profiles app is stuck and I cannot silence the phone!!! (so waiting for help in another post)

But getting to love it and would really really hate it if I would need to trade it for a 6230 (my good friend's phone).

Just a word of advice...
It seems alot of people here arent familiar with S60 phones!

Make sure every once in a while u press and HOLD the Menu button...
Which will then bring up a list of apps running in the background, which u have to press "c" to close the apps...
the only app that should be left open is the phone app (u cant close it anyway)

Having too many apps open will slow down the speed of your phone (just like a pc).
