I got the Nokia 3230 !!!My mini review

i just got the 3230 yesterday,it has firmware version V 3.0505.2

my first impressions of the phone are pretty good,its not as fast scrolling through the menus as the 6630,but its pretty solid and very light weight,overall im very happy with it,the buttons are placed nicely and it actually takes a normal RS-MMC (so you dont need to buy a DV RS MMC)im using a 512mb rs mmc and its running perfectly!!I got it for 360 euro from Greece.The camera quality is similar to 7610 (6630 is clearer) the 3230 has the clearest screen than any series60 phone.The sound quility is less than the 6630 ringtones etc etc.If anyone has questions let em rip
The package is poor it contains a charger,manual,32 mb card(no adapter)the phone and handsfree..thats it!!!!

I have a question, can you download SPMark04 from www.futuremark.com and install it on your phone, and let us know what the CPU Speed of the 3230 is?
I believe everyone is keen to know the answer to that!

Here is the CPU Speeds of other Symbian Phones:
6600/3650/N-Gage = 104Mhz
7610/6670/6260 = 123Mhz
6630/6680/6681 = 220Mhz

I certainly hope its more than 104Mhz! :S

the mp3 is mono and to the other guy who asked for the 3230 cpu speed it is 123MHz!!!Compared to my 6630 that i have also there is a difference obviously

Ok i take it that u have used the phone for afew days... how is it? Any comments on it good or bad? The camera quality is bad compared to the 7610, what do u think?

And more importantly, how is the battery life? Technically speaking the battery on the 323o is 760mAH, which is much lower than the 7610/6670/6630, those have 900mAH! So how long with average usage do you charge ur phone?

Nice looking phone. Im waiting for it to become available. Im buying the 3230 over the 6630. Just wondering if realplayer on the 3230 can play full screen? I read that the 3230 will play 15-20 frames a second like the 6630 can. Anyone know if its powerfull enouph to play at these frame rates?

Seeing as the 3230 is almost identical in both hardware and software to the 7610/6670, then playback of media will be comparable.

Just a side note, the 6630 can play full screen video at 25fps, and if compressed correctly, then smooth 30fps playback is possible with Smartmovie

Real player does not play full screen ,you need to put pv player,and the camera quality is similar to that of the 7610,its a 7610 with radio and infrared with a little 6600 characteristics...its a very good phone and i also have the 6630 so believe me for the price its a good value for money

It has around 9mb RAM. Sysman shows 8.64mb of free ram after a reboot.. so obviosly with Sysman running in the background the fone has close to 9mb ram.

i have a 3650 right now and i am looking at getting the nokia 3230 or the 6620

ram is a real problem for me on my 3650 so can anyone tell me which on has more?

When I had my 3650 the most ram i could get according to Appman was 3-4 mb

i just got my 3230 its a nice little phone with lots of fetures but the software has soo manny bugs it has restarted on me so manny times im going to take it back and use my nokia 6230, the battrie on the 3230 doesnt last that long and when i take a pxt it comes out oval im really upset with this phone i was wating 3 months till they where relised in australia but i was wrong for waiting so long

all and all if there where no software problems i would have liked to keept the phone its a mad phone dont get me wrong

hope u guys in the us and europ have better luck then the asian/australian relise of this phone
