comparing keyboard 9300, 9500, SE P910

I now have a SonyEricsson P910i but are getting tired of the very small or to me too small keybord.

My sight is getting bad too so I need to look at a landscape insted of a small width screen. I am locked for two years with p910 so I am in now hurry though.

So Nokia 9300 and 9500 look good with much bigger keyboards. They have our åäö too in the right places?

But when I phoned the Nokia Club one person working there told me that Nokia 9300 has too small keyboard for his taste. Is that a common reactions.

What is your experience of this? Compared to the 9500 is it really worth to pay some 1000SEK some 143 USD for the difference in key size and the tactile feel or for the bigger screen or for whatever.

I am preparing to move my addressbook.txt to win address book cause it is sync-able to my SEP910i and will the Nokia PC suite use the same windows XP addressbook? are these compatible with each other?

I already have Nokia PC suite for the 6650 (which is soo primitive that it is n't even represented on All symbian. Platform 40. )

Is that the same Nokia PC Suite that I will use if I sell my P910 and by myself a Nokia 9300? I don't mind it have no camera but ifit lack wifi that could be bad?

The 9300's keyboard isn't that much smaller than the 9500's. None of them can be comfortably used for touch typing. I'd say that the 9500's keyboard is better for typing when it's laid down on a flat surface, while the 9300's keyboard is better when you hold it in your hands (thumb typing).

The extra SEK1000,- for the 9500, is because of the Wi-Fi and the camera.

The keys are so stiff that it is hard to write lightly for example on your lap. You need to have a hard surface under the machine, or use thumb-writing.

åäöÅÄÖ are in their right places in Scandinavian versions.

I think that for most people who have experienced Psion-series keyboards, Nokia's keyboards are primitive. Blessed are those who out of sheer Psion-ignorance have not experienced how good the real mini-keyboards can be.

Obviously compromises has to be made when you reduce the size of the machine so much. Comparing the 9300's keyboard to old Psions isn't very fair. Obviously my Jornada 720's keyboard was better than my 9300's, but then again the 720 wasn't exactly 'pocketable' and weighed in at half a kilo.

On the other hand, when it comes to thumb typing, the 9300 is excellent just because of the reduction in size.

The 9300/9500 keyboards are completely different to the 910, there should be no comparison here.

I had a 9500 and now I have a 9300, both keyboards are very usable, I am not sure what the Nokia representative meant about the 9300, his fingers must be like sausages. I agree with Raven I found the 9500 better to use on a desk but the 9300 is better for thumb typing.

The 9500 is well worth the extra money if Wi-Fi is important to you, for me it's not and the extra portability of the 9300 is far more important.

i've used all three... in order of my preference...my choice is
1. Nokia 9500
2. Nokia 9300
3. Brackberry
4. Treo
5. P910

Of course somewhere in the middle would fall the O2's

My personal opinion about the 9300's keyboard is that its very easy to get used to. the only really sensitive thing is the scroll pad. its not like the 9500. its more like a joystick..you have to slide it to the right, left ,up or down..but the click is very very very sensitive,...one has to get used to it. the tactile feel to the keys is not as good as the 9500, but its still present & very easy to get used to.
i have not typed long emails on it, but i guess it would not be that difficult.

p900 has a really tiny keyboard & you yet have to use the stylus in combination with the keyboard....its plays a toll on ur finders & hand. long emails , lots of smsing...will definately result in finger fatique.

9500- what can i say..perfect !!!!!
