How 2 disassemble/dismantle the Sendo X
Hi,
does anynbody have instructions/tips on how to disassemble/dismantle the
Sendo X?
I am still struggling with the microphone problem (people can't hear me), and
loosening the screws slightly and tightening them again does not seem to have
the same effect anymore.
I would like to open the unit completely and try to repair it myself. I don't want
to send it in since it is probably gonna take 2 months or more until I get it back,
and in that time the unit will be outdated anyway. I don't give a S**T about
voiding the guarantee on the unit, but I don't wont to brake it.
So if anybody have detailed description I will be happy. What do I need of tools
beside the torx T6 screwdriver. Especially where the fastening-clips that keep
the chassis together are located.
Is it sufficient to remove the screws alone? I have tried so, but the pieces still
seem to be stuck together.
Thank you

Hi
I“m also interested. I made the " screws trick" but it doesn“t work anymore.
I“d like to get access to the microphone to see if there“s some problem with it.
Sending to fix it is not an option. In Spain the official service gives me always at least 1 month to give an answer to any problem!!!

I get the same problem on the latest voda firmware as well.
It seems if u should really loud or blow down the mic it works but talking normally doesnt. everytime i need to use my phone i have to use the headset.
Ive had the phone apart, heres how u do it:
1) remover the back cover and battery and remove the screws
2) gently slide a finger nail into the bottom round edges of the front phone cover and slide yur nail to the top of the phone, do this on both side. it is really easy to take the cover off and put it back on, it hinges at the top of the phone, so slightly push the cover forward to lift it off
3) remove the 2 screws located at the top of the phone above the screen, this will release the speaker which prety much falls of when the screws are out
4) well thats as far as i got cos the headphone cover would not budge cos it is attached to the inside and im not going to pull on it incase it snaps

Well I finally got into the phone and im very shocked to find that the phone is not stereo at all!!!!!!!!
Its just 1 speaker channeled into 2 compartments.
The microphone is situited in the back cover of the phone and not on the main bored of the phone, its on the bottom left corner.
Hope that helps, now time to put it back together!

Hi man, thanks for the input, gonna find my screwdriver and start
the "surgery" asap...
Did you manage to loosen the microphone and reinstate it so that
the microphone works better now?
BTW! Did I understand you correctly that you finally managed to
completely open the phone? (remove the headphones output?)

Adam the phone outputs stereo through the headset/handsfree/output socket. I dont believe they even claimed stereo speakerphone operation :-)
Cheers for the disection information. My replacement phone seems to have zero problems so far ( last one had a totally dead mic ).

I agree with Adam, I was also under the impression that the phone had Stereo output from the "dual chamber" super-duper-extra-special sound system of the Sendo X. There has been so many dissapointments for me with this phone, that
I don't know where to begin!
But hey, I just need some help to get this microphone fixed so that I can survive until the Nokia 6680 arrives.
So if more people know how to go about and fix it, let me know!!!
Adam, DID you???

What Adam said about taking the phone apart is basically correct. Once you've taken all 6 screws out, there's nothing much left holding the phone together.
Do be careful with the speaker's dual port ducting, as it's held on by a flat cable, and once un-clipped from the main circuit board has a tendancy to fall off.
Aslo, be careful when putting the keyboard back in, it's very easy to get it trapped, which causes it to not work as well. :(

Yeah i really should have warned that it does VOID YOU WARRENTY, if u have no clue about the inside of a phone then please dont bother! i was really charmed at the way sendo have put theres together, seems so simple!
so far the mic works, it must be down to the fact its not "hard wired" to the phone, its connected just like the earpiece, thus being connected like the battery does with 2 copper ends and maybe it just needed cleaned to make better contact with the main board.

Well, good news, I managed to disassemble my X totally, I loosened
the microphone, cleaned the contact surface on the motherboard, put
everything back together, and now finally the microphone is working
as it should have from the beginning!
People now say they hear me as good as never before, and now the voice
recognition seem to work as well..
I am gonna put out pictures of the operation soon if somebody are
interested.

I am sorry to dissapoint you man, buth bot Andy and I now have opened the
phone, and I can confirm that the Sendo X DOES NOT have stereo speakers
built in.
Sendo has dissapointed me in many ways with the way they have (are) been
marketing this phone in contrast to how it is performing.
If you listen real close, you can even hear that it is mono, I tried with a
sound-track that shifted a lot from left to right speaker, and you simply
can't hear that happen on the SPEAKER on the Sendo X.

It's DUAL PORT, not DUAL SPEAKERS!
As far as I know, this has never been questioned! The stereo part is the HEADPHONES!
I'll take some photos some time to show you all
