Loose signal when I insert mmc.

I have a qd and recently I started to randomly loose signal until there was no service. I called Cingular (no help) and then tried to mess with it myself, I noticed that when I removed the mmc I got full signal back and after inserting it again I lost signal. I recently got a new sim card from Cingular, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I am going to format the mmc and see if that has any effect. I am also going to send it in to Cingular and have them send me a new one. Any suggestions? The majority of problems started since the ATT and cingular merge, then the past five days. My wife's phone works fine, signal wise so I know there is no signal outage.
