Uploading Contacts without syncing - What App?
Hi All
I must have been very good this year as Santa brought me a lovely 9500!
I want to transfer my contacts from my old P800 without syncing to outlook etc (as my contacts never synced properly with the P800 anyway) I could use contacts manager to download the P800 contacts to a CSV delimited file....
But is there an app to load them into the 9500?
(I couldn't see a 9500 version of Contact manager)
There must be a 9210 app that can upload contacts but I haven't found one yet.
Any help would be great.
Cheers
Jago

That's great Hyper I didn't expect to get a copy of contacts manager for 9500. Have you used it? Is it any good/have you got any tips?
I'll give it a go and thanks for the trial version.
Cheers

Version 0.99 in the attachment is almost 2 years old. It is rather buggy, and without importing abilities.
Please always point to the latest versions.
The latest version for Series 80 is v.1.03.
The latest version for P800/900 is 1.00.
The latest version for Series 60 is v.1.05.

Thanks Petr
I did notice there were no import options (but thought this may be due to it being a trial or early version).
It looks like a useful program but possibly more technical mor more detailed than I needed for a straightforward transfer.
In the end I used Smart vcard (available for UIQ, S60 and S80) which lets you import/export vcard files (by file, bluetooth or infrared) it was very simple and worked a treat to move all my contacts over!
Thanks all for your help.

In the case of straightworward transfer it is as simple as possible: export-send-import. No technical skills required (unless you would like to play with CSV file, of course).

Absolutely and I am sure that Contact Manager is simple and powerful.
It's just that the trial version is limited to 25 entries and being skint after Christmas the full functionality of SmartVCard (trial version limited to 15 days) let me do it all for free!
(Although I am considering purchasing it and carrying around the sis files of all versions so I can beam them to anyone I want to swap contacts with and they can install the trial versions and swap as many contacts between different platforms as needed ).

Petr - I would be interested if Contact Manager can include photos and all contact info though (e.g. notes etc) rather than just field entries?
Cheers

Yes it does. It is able to transfer virtually all information from contacts database (including fields with user-defined description, conceded and hidden fields, hidden subtypes as well as special fields).
On P800/900, "Private" notes exporting depends on Settings.
Contact pictures are exported (if allowed in Setiings). The only temporary problem is pictures exporting from N9500 - Contacts Manager for N92xx cannot export them from N9500 (we are working on fixing it), but it can import them.
