Controlling Winamp via Bluetooth and N7650
I wonder if this is possible? It should because I have seen various remote (VPN and TCP/IP) clients for Symbian Devices. This could be the perfekt remote control for listing large MP3 collections: Imagine, via the bluetooth serial connection Winamp can stream the ID3 Tags to your phone and you, just with a tip of the joystick alter the volume, skip to the next song etc, etc... no need to bring te PC to the living room. Maybe you can controll your playlists from such a client software...

A Bluetooth remote control for the PC exists for the Ericsson t68/t68i but not for Nokia! I hope someone will eventually do it!

You may be interested in this
I've just finished version 1.0 of Bemused: an app which allows you to control WinAmp using your 7650 and Bluetooth. You can browse and control your music on your phone without even being in the same room as your computer. It's pretty powerful, and also customisable using skins.
It's freely available (source code as well) from http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~ashley/bemused/.
I hope people find it useful; if anyone has any problems with it, don't hesitate to contact me.

The app stops working after while, but after a couple of updates this app will rock! Keep up the good work!
EDIT: It works great now, just had to reboot my box.

the app an the phone looks really great, but the server doesn't work for me. using the 3com software the serial connection on port 3 works fine, but the bemused server doesnt establish an connection:
Welcome to Bemused v1.0
Copyright Ashley Montanaro 2002
Couldn't open port 3 (error 2).
Choose a different port and press "Connect".
but anyhow... a great porting of that idea!

Hmmm, okay, let's see if we can narrow it down a bit. Some general points for setting up the server:
1. The Bemused server app should not be run on any of the same COM ports as Nokia PC Suite. You should set up a separate virtual serial port for it.
2. On my PC at least (with the MSI Bluetooth key), you shouldn't actually "connect" the virtual serial port which you use for the Bemused server. Just set it up, leave it unconnected, and run the Bemused server on that port.
3. Some Windows Bluetooth stacks can need Windows to be restarted before they actually react to changes you make.
4. You should run the server app before connecting to the PC from the phone (obvious I guess...)
5. Some apps can grab low-numbered COM ports (ones below 4 or so). Try specifying a COM port with a higher number.
If anyone's still having problems, you can send me screenshots (nice small JPEGs, please!) of your settings, and I'll do what I can to help.
