Not receiving SMS sometimes.......
I have a question!
Did anyone experience something strange with his phone
Ok ok you all did! but check this out!
Yesterday some ppl did send me SMS messages all day long! However I did not know because I never received them! After not answering to their messages someone called me to check if I am ok! He said why dont you answer to my messages? Apparantly he received a report saying the message has been delivered but I did not receive any messages! Well after deciding to power-cycle my phone, after a while I got all mesages at once! I read somewhere that somebody else experienced a problem with SMS receiving! It could be a Network problem but I cannot explain POWER-cycling the phone and receiving them! Any ideas?

For this problem, i've quite alot of experience on this.
This problem is usually caused by the Network problem.
This happens to me sometimes, we (or maybe myself) called it "lag".
You might just nice to get your phone re-powered when the network link between the operators recovers.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

IMHO I dont think this is a network problem at all, I have experienced it and the sender was using delivery reports which indicated it was delivered to the phone.
After a restart it appeared, in the inbox but no notification even before the phone registered with the cell...

I'm using 3.16 and still expiriencing the same problem.
Also it does not seem to be a network problem, but rather a phone-related
one.
I know this because i called Orange (Israel), and they've cheked the
SMS system while i was on the phone. After they've suggested that
i reboot the phone, all SMS messages were received.

Yes I understand now! I firstly thought this was a network problem but I could not explain ppl receiving the delivered reports! So there you go another bug!
In the past with other mobile phones, I experienced Lag as well but in these cases there was no report sent to the user messaging me! This is a different case afterall!
:(

I guess that this might be a bug.
I'm using fw 3.16 & not experiencing such problem.
I'm from Singapore on MobileOne (M1) network.

Same problem with 7650
Hi, I also suddenly had the same problem, if you look in Menu -> Log -> (Press right on joystick to go to log list) you'll see that there have been text messages arriving to the phone (little blue down arrow next to SMS).
I spoke to vodafone (UK) who assured me that the messages had been sent from the network to my handset and the phone log confirmed it.
After speaking to club nokia, they couldn't help either until I checked this forum out (although club nokia are v cool).
All it took was to power down, then power up the phone and all my messages appeared. This seems to be a problem unique to the 7650 of even the latest software version 3.16.
The question is... how do you know when to do this in order to receive messages? Nokia are now aware of the problem and I gave them this site address to have a look. (Thanks for trying to help club nokia) )
Lets hope the issue is resolved with a software update...

Good thing u did there! I didn't notice that the reports are comming through since I have them turned off! For some strange reason I never get reports even when they are turned on! It must be O2 but that does not bother me!
I guess u cant really know if a message has stuck only if somebody calls you and tells you that you have not replied to the message! Well if Nokia is watching now I hope they find a solution, but it will take some time to implement it in a FW and actually release it! :-?
