MSN Messenger....
Hi all,
got my X today (got sick of waiting for the SP3i from expansys) and am just trying to get to grips with it. I've had 2 Nok6600 so am quite used to Symbian OS.
My problem is this - I used to use Agile Messenger on the 6600's and it worked a treat (especially since it's free! ) but when I go to get the version for the X, is isn't available. I read the posts explaining that the 3650 version would probably work so downloaded it and indeed it DOES work! Don't try the SX1 version as that gives the infamous ID message. Anyway, it works in as far as it connects to Yahoo Messenger perfectly fine but will not connect to MSN Messenger! I initially had a GPRS problem (discovered when Opera wouldn't load a page) but that is now sorted.
So, what could be letting one messenger service run but not the other. I know they use different ports in TCP/IP.... could this be it?
My mate still has a 7610 and Agile Messenger connects to MSN on his.
Could someone get the 3650 version ( http://www.agilemobile.com/downloads.html) and see if connects on theirs?
If it does, then i'll look at the phone. If it doesn't, i'll try and get help from Agile.
Cheers chaps!

i just get the symbian version: AgileMessengerS60.SIS
if you have to select a model, take NGAGE...
the latest software version for agile messenger connects real fast, much faster than before, so i'm quite happy with it !

That's the one i've got. It's the same version for the N-Gage as the Nokia 7650, 3650, 36xx. It's filename is AgileMessengerS60.sis
Have you installed it? Does MSN work?

Agilemessenger 3.11 on Sendo X
I am also pretty used to the Symbian OS through extensive use of
the N6600/7650/3650.
I ran Agilemessenger on the previous Nokia devices without any problems.
Now, when using Agilemessenger (3.11 for 3650/N-Gage) on the X I get
problems. First I have to start it 2-3 times for Agilemessenger to be able
to connect and list all my contacts.
Second, and most irritating, when running Agilemessenger in the background
(working with other apps, or just showing the NOW screen) I don't get
any notification of new messages like I did on the Nokias.
E.g on the N6600 the message-notification sound would come up regardles
what else I was doing with the phone. On the Sendo X I actually have to
have Agilemessenger open and running in the front for this to happen.
And then I must say that much of the point of using this application goes away.

Speedman, i don't suppose you have the .sis file still, do you? I've had a look for an older version of Messenger but came up with nothing. Is it still available on the web?
I'm going to email Tech at Agile and see what i can find out.....

Version 3.XX is the latest at the Agile website. I've wrote a long email to their Tech department to see if they can provide older versions that may work a little better.
Speedman - could you please check what version it states in the details screen in Program Mgr.?

I am running version 3.13, not 3.11 as I said..
And this is the latest version available (to my knowledge) from agilemobile...
And YES I have the agile-messenger up and running on the Sendo X, I experience
som problems starting it up sometimes, that's all..
And I DO NOT get notification of MSN messages when I DON'T have agile-
messenger in the front open.
