The 7650 has an IR port and it has Applications so... why aren't there any remote control applications?!
The range won't be too far from the phone I'm sure but it'd be better than finding the right remote for your TV, VCR etc (I have 6 in my bedroom alone!!!)
The range is at MOST 1 meter, so that why ppl dont really bother to write an app like that! When you are 1 meter from your device its not much to stratch your hand to do it manually anyways! Maybe there will be apps like that in the future, but given the 7650's limited memory they just east up space for nothing!

Nobody can be sure, but someone who uses an Erricson t68i in an ericcson forum created a Bluetooth remote control for the PC where you can do sorts of things with yor phone on the pc! Run apps, shutdown etc. It says that supported devices are only some erricsons so :(
