You have to replace the N-Gage's display with an N-Gage display (spare part). A 6600 display will not work (the N-Gage's version of Symbian/Series 60 does not have support for more than 4096 colour displays).

You need to check what firmware version you have. Type : *#0000# into your phone and it'll return what version you have. If you're running 4.00 then you'll need to get the phone re-flashed by Nokia to 4.10 because that older firmware has a dimmer screen than the newer one. Otherwise, the Ngage screeen should be as bright as the 6600.

Yep, take it to a Nokia service center (apparently a lot of folks live around these areas but I never seen any around my area) or send it to Nokia and have them re-flash it for a small fee. Go to the nokia website for more info.

If you put a 6600 screen, you will still get 4096 colors, but since it is a tft screen you will get more clarity right? can anyone tell me what happens when you put a 6600 screen on n-gage? the screen will work at 4096 colors right? 3660 also runs on S60 V6.1 and it has 65k support. so the software has support for 65k screen, only n-gage does not have it.
