Question 6600 not answering calls (voda uk)

i initially decided to post this here cuz i thought it was a problem with my (nearly) new 6600 but something else just happened that proves it isn't that. anyway...

i'm getting an intermittent problem reciving calls. I found out about it when friends started asking how come my phone was off more often than usual. apparantly, more often than not they were sent straight to voice-mail. on hearing this, I did some testing at work and found that it was about 50-50.

Test1 RANG
Test2 (+30s) VM
Test3 (+60s) VM
Test4 (+90s) VM
Test5 (+120s) RANG
Test6 (+150s) RANG
Test7 (+180s) VM

(VM = voice mail)

This is with the phone sat in exactly the same position on my desk, registering full signal and with the cell number (area code) shown correctly on the screen. 'Rebooting' the phone had no effect. Sometime it would answer straight after restarting, sometimes not.

Concluding there was a problem with the 6600, I dug out the 6310i that the 6600 replaced and left for work.

This morning, I got a voice mail message notifications - check message and its one of my friends telling me my phone is screwed again. More work testing and the same happens.

Test1 VM
Test2 (+30s) RANG
Test3 (+60s) VM
Test4 (+90s) VM
Test5 (+120s) RANG

The only constant between these is my SIM-card but I'm really struggling to see how it would be achieving this. I always assumed the decision to go to voice-mail or not took place at the exchanges / cells.

I'm with vodafone (cross 200 i think) if that makes any diff.

Any ideas appreciated.

Its obviously the sim card thats at fault as you say, just ring vodafone customer services on 191 or from land line 07836191191 and they will send you a new one.

Or it may just need a sim update which they will send as sms.
