N6600 screensaver problem!
Hi all,
Please could you help me?
I have just bought a Nokia 6600 on the Orange UK network. But since then, i've had the sim restriction turned off and i'm using my own sim card.
Thing is, I have the standard Nokia screensaver...the one with the date and time that goes up and down the screen every minute or so, set to come on after 1 minute. But, after about 20-30 seconds an animated screensaver appears with the Orange UK logo on it. Then it switches to the standard date and time screensaver. When this animated one turns on, so does the backlight!
I have located a few files in FExplorer, which shows the screensaver in "Z:" section! But cannot do anything about it.
Please could you advise me on removing or disabling this animated nightmare!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Michael

You may go to "Theme" & then modify it to get the "time & date" screen saver,
Cheers,

May be with a piece of software like Appman you could find the Screensaver process thats running in the background and disable it/close it...
Thing is though everytime you reboot your phone, you'll get it the orange screensaver come up again..

Thanks for the reply
I thought about that earlier....but surely there must be some way of disabling it permanantly?!

If you do as estepona said,it will disable the orange screensaver permanantly.
Files in the Z: drive cannot be touched as it is read only.

There is one way, get the firmware updated...then the Z: will be flashed and over written...meaning that the screensaver put on by orange is removed..

Actually if you pay attention to this it does work.
I questioned the point of the orange screensaver a while back, as I saw that it was not there long enough to be useful. I couldn't work out how to make it last longer so I wanted to get rid of it, I went into themes, chose the theme I was on and selected to edit it. The screensaver was on 'Sky(Default)', so I just changed it to 'Date and Time' and goodbye annoying screensaver, I haven't seen it since.
That seems an easier resolution that getting your phone reflashed, unless you want to do that.
