Angry apps stop opening

OK, i've had a look around for this, but can't find it (my apologies if it has been posted already )

I've had my 6600 for a few weeks now and i'm still at the stage of installing lots of stuff on it to find out what it does but every now and then a program that used to work perfectly suddenly refuses to open at all. Today total ir remote is refusing to open.

I go to the folder where i've put ir remote, click on it, the screen flashes as if it's going to change, then i'm looking at the same folder where ir remote is installed.

Have i got a file conflict or something? the only way i seem to be able to sort this problem is to reformat my phone

help would be appreciated

you mentioned that "i'm still at the stage of installing lots of stuff on it to find out what it does" and maybe that is your problem. try freeing as much memory in order for IR Remote to load. If you have a software like Psiloc Task Manager try killing some apps that are running in the background!

I have lots of memory free, I haven't totally filled the phone up with apps, this isn't the first time this has happened and it's a different program each time :?

I just had that start happening when I did a lazy transfer to my third 6600. Hold down the menu key just to check (nope, I'm sure you aren't running anything). I had to erase and reinstall the bad guys...One thing odd is that things which seemed to require a part be installed in the phone memory actually worked w/o being there (go figure). You probably have a 'conflict'. A good one is rebooting and not starting anything using java before running an app. Otherwise you're where everyone is..you install a bunch of stuff then format your phone and only use a few useful things. It's not that difficult to reinstall. You can also try switching all the apps to and from memory on the phone and the mmc just to see if anything is stuck. Give the memory card a name even if it had one. All the usual. Good luck hope it stops misbehaving.
