Memory Card Password...?!
hi can anyone help?!
I restored my nokia 6600 to its original factory settings by using the code (*#7370#)
It worked ok and my nokia 6600 works fine, however when I restored to factory settings I left my memory card in so I think its done the same with the memory card.
It now says (memory card locked) when I try to access my memory card, I need a password to unlock it, is there a default code? how can I get the code?
My handset is from orange, I rang them but they were unable to help and said I may need to get in touch with nokia directly.
Will be very grateful to all who can help.
Thanks in advance

I think I read somewhere it was '12345' by default unless you change it.

That's the lock code default password. MMCs don't have a default password, but if you set one, it will be whatever you set it to.

Search for "mmcstore": http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/search.php
In short, look up the file with the above name with FExplorer ( http://www.gosymbian.com/), open/view its contents and the password is visible there.
If you have reformatted the phone or deleted the file, then there is no way to recover the password to my knowledge.

As I said (last line in the post just before yours): "If you have reformatted the phone or deleted the file, then there is no way to recover the password".
There is no default. The code is what you set it to.
Maybe a data recovery service like IBAS ( http://www.ibas.com/) can help, but you should then have something pretty valuable on the card, as they'll probably cost a bundle.
Otherwise, next time, don't use a password, or write the password down somewhere, or use something you'll remember (or don't format your phone without saving the mmcstore file first).

To unlock memory card password, first of all you need to install system explore version 1.80 application on your phone memory. Then open the system explore,
1. Go to File browser .
2.Open c: Phone memory.
3.Open system folder and then find file name mmc store.
4.klik option, then open with Ansi editor.
5.The password are written at the text.(usually the lastly text).
6.use the password to open the memory card.
if you cannot find the software.send me you email and I will give it to you
