shortcuts DISAPPEAR
hi
i am getting a weird problem on my n-gage
on my main menu i have shortcuts for various applications and games loaded on my memory card.
Now, when i listen to songs on my memory card and then swich the mp3 player OFF;
and then go to the main menu my shortcuts are all GONE.
i have to go to the fexplorer and goto the required directory and from there access my applications or games.

When playing MP3's with the build in MP3 player your MMC can't be accesed by other applications.
Symbian detects this and doesn't display the icons anymore.
You'll have to wait until symbianos performs the next check before the icons are added again.
It's not an error...

i know that dazzler
i am saying that after my i CLOSE my MP3 player my shortcuts dont return no matter how much time i wait.
i have been using ngage for a month so far and this is the 1st time it has happend and this problem still persists no matter what i do.
however when i switch it off and switch on again then i get back my shortcuts. But if i use my mp3 player again they go away.
Only after it tells "APPLICATION APPARCSERVERTHREAD CLOSED"(which happens when i am doin things like backing up my device memory) do the shortcuts come back.
then if u use the mp3 player and close it the same problem persists

usually this tends to happen after uve installed this and that to your fone and ur running low on ram (or what ever you call it).
Just hard reset it and you should find everything is loads quicker, including the shortcuts in the menu.

It is not a bug, it is a feature.
As mentioned, it is due to how memory card access behaves. Only one process/program has access to it, and when you play an MP3 from the memory card, the player is constantly reading from the card, and during that time no other program has access, and it is why icons for programs installed on the memory card seem to disappear.

hmm amol, well, sounds like a fault with your ngage to me, as my icons normally re-appear. you could try going in and out of menu a few times but failing that phone mr nokia (even tho he seems to know next to nothing about his phone). I have this problem to a limited extent with Fifa, Pandemonium and Puyo Pop which all fail to reappear along with my other icons
Any one got any ideas other than telling us this is a feature? (we knew that bit already)
