problem with jar and rar files

I have a problem with the installation of jar and rar files.
What's the right way to install them ? because I double click on the icon and follow the procedure but at the end appears a message that says that the file is corrupted.

Sorry if my question was answered before but I searched the forum.

That is the right procedure.Maybe the the .jar file was corrupted during the download.
