Me and my mate went up to the lake district the other day,(12th). In classic style we forgot to take a map. We only found out when we were f****d in winter mist. One phone call to my girlfriend, she scanned in the map and sent it to me by e-mail, we laughed like children when we looked on the screen and saw exactly where we were. I'm still buzzing, i had to tell someone!

LOL.. I've done that before - was going to visit a company I'd never been to before, got lost in the town where the company was, phoned their reception and asked them to fax me a map - 5 minutes later I turned up at the office and they were wuite suprised until I explained that they had faxed me to my 9110 (it was a while ago).

One of the reasons I got my 9210 is when my dad told me about how his boss went out without blueprints for the job they were working on and how he got them faxed to his 9110 on the job.
It's easy to see how you can get maps or anything similar sent to the phone to make life easier.

A weekly science fiction serial by me, written on a 9500/E90.
Some other Symbain devices apparently have GPS built into them. I wouldn't mind that in the 9210.
Of course Palmtop Route and Street Planner apps are coming soon (end of this month / December) and they should be great for this sort of thing.
You can also download (via the web) a portion of any 150,000 map in the UK from <!-- BBCode auto-link start -->http//www.streetmap.co.uk<!-- BBCode auto-link end -->
