Is 6600 picture quality is WORSE than 3650/7600? See inside
Hey all,
Attached are the comparison of pictures taken with 3650 and 6600. Although they were taken from different location, check out the quality at the EDGES / outer area of the picture. The 3650 have MUCH sharper picture than the 6600, which is very blurry near the outer edge. Note the writing on the top left of the 6600, compare that to the 3650.
Now, compare the 6600 to the 7650.. Note that the 7650 was taken AT NIGHT and it was even BETTER overall AND VIEWABLE than the 6600. Am I missing something here?
...and no.. my hand was NOT shaking when I took the picture using the 6600 since the MIDDLE of the picture for the 6600 was sharp compared to the outer area
Picture from 6600 - BOTTOM- Surrounding area of the pictures is blurred
- Writing on top left is blurred
Picture from 3650 - BOTTOM- VERY SHARP compared to 6600
- No blurry effect in the surrounding area of the picture
Picture from 7650 - BOTTOM- NIGHT picture, slightly blurred
- Overall picture quality is consistent from middle to the outer area

Is the 7650 picture taken in night mode?If it is,that is awesome quality.IMO the 3650 has best picture quality in Nokia Series 60 devices.

You can't really compare those 3 pictures in completely different scenarios and light conditions. The second one does look very good it must be said.

What?
HI!...
I think that all pictures quality depends on many parameters ...
- Hour of the day and light (natural or not)
- Distance to the objetive
- Still pic target or moving target
- Software that you used to take it
- Format and quality
- And finally the Guy that take the pic (is a good photographer? is amateur? a pro? , an stupid? lol! etc.)
All that make a big differences on the pictures and i am sure that all we know that, so to really make comparations all the parameters must be the same for all the devices...
Anyway to make my point this all pictures was taken using the
6600 with FlexiCam App ... same time (all pictures taken from 10:30 am to 10:40 am... same place... to different targets arroun my home.
any questions?
cya!

Yeah I have to say that I completly dissagree with the comments made by Ianwarrior2000.
the first pic taken by the 6600 is not sharp in any area of the image which would indicate slight shakiness. Also the blurred writing on the sign I would imagine has been caused by the shaft of light burning the image in the top left corner.
I must admit the 3650 pic looks great but again it appears that the lighting is very bright but more importantly, even, and this counts for a lot.
There has been talk of doing direct comparisons of the cameras from all different series 60 phones but it is a very difficult thing to conduct. Perhaps the best place for research is the gallery and the photo contest

This analisys is not fair I think. You should take the pictures under the same conditions. For example, in the one taken with the 6600 in the metro station the blur efect is a matter of overexposure to light.(the one coming from the window in the top left hand corner).
In my experience 6600 has better optics, and I notice it in the less pronounced "EYE-FISH" effect.(look at the bars supportting I don't know what in the 7650 pic,can you see they are slightly curved?).

Foxy - that last pic - so you have discovered the hack that puts the 6600 cam into 1.3 megapixel mode, not many people know of that hack
But as for the 6600 pix generally - I have never seen a pic as bad as that one in the train station - very blurred at the edge, looks like a dirty or damp lens,.
Or a faultly lens?
6600 pix in my opinion, taken with the bundled software, are better than the 3650 for indoor pix, outdoor pix, is hard to see much difference, 6600 the colours are a little more natural.:
Foxy - out of interest, with flexycam cam you take a better picture BUT at the same file size using flexicam than when using the bundled cam software?

Dude... the train station picture was taken using the Nokia 7650 , not 6600.
Anyway, below is the picture taken using 6600 using 3 different program. Note that now it has the SAME scenery and same lighting.
1. Using FLEXCAM (95% JPEG Quality, no other settings)
2. Using PhotoFusion (it's very SHARP)
3. Using Nokia built-in camera software

Hello, I just got a 6600 yesterday and I noticed something with my fone, when I used to have a 7650 I have an option to resize the Image size to Large and Small, but with the 6600 I do not get that option , I only get the Image Quality , Image Name and an option to save either to MMC or the Phone's memory when I click on the setting.
Also when you take a picture at a standard mode, the pix takes up to 25 to 30KB only as compared to the 7650 it takes up to 45KB, does this mean that when the picture taken from a 6600 transferred to a PC will look really small? How about you guys? How much memory does it usually take when you take a standard photo on your 6600? And is 25 to 30KB pix taken from a 6600normal?
PLease help, I am a newbie as you can guess. All your response and help will be appreciated!! Also anyone knows a good app for a 6600?

It depends on the Image quality settings you use. Also the Image size varies with Image Focus, Light conditions (more size in night mode), object distance. My 7650 takes photos with >30KB normally, and I use the normal Image setting.
