Battery life/drain question
Hi all,
I am using a imitation battery on my 7650, which I believe is normal 700mAh capacity. However after 5 full charge cycle, I am still getting only 15 minutes talk time and 1 day standby. At first I thought it is the battery, but then when I swap the "flat" battery to a 8250, it shows "3 blocks" of battery power.
My question is, does the 7650 have a lower threshold before it deems a battery "flat"? Would you advise me to use the original 700mAh battery that comes with the phone (which I wanted to save for my gf's 8250, whose battery is near death), or shell out £14 for a 1100mAh hi capacity battery? Thanks.

Hi there,
If you are in the UK, the cheapest you will find on the net is:
http://www.1st4mobileaccessories.co.uk/batteries.shtml
http://www.shopsmartshophere.com/nokiabatteries.shtml
http://www.solware.co.uk/batteries.shtml
If you look carefully, all three site are the "same"... supplied by solware.co.uk, the last link.
Adrian
So you think I should try the Hi Cap battery then?

I guess the 7650, when it has the display on and the cpu working hard, has a much higher current drain from the battery than the 8250 and the non-original battery can't keep up with it, so the output voltage falls below the threshold much earlier. It's not only a matter of charge capacity, it's also a problem of maximum current.

I do agree with you lele, and that's exactly what I thought is happening...
But is that a problem with the original nokia normal cap battery? I am leaning towards getting a high cap battery since now I have an excuse and my gf agrees with me... no need to convince her!

Sorry to bring this up again but what is the general experience with original normal cap Nokia battery with the 7650? I want to know whether it would be worth my while shelling out £14 for the high cap battery. Thanks.

Yes, shell out. On a good day without much use or any calls it will last 2 days. I tend to have to charg mine every other day. I've got a high capacity battery waiting for me when I get back to the UK next week

Exactly like Taomyn said: 1 day with much use, 2 days with less use. But another question: Anyone here who knows where to get a high capacity battery in middle europe, especially Austria? I guess it would be rather expensive to order it in UK and get it sent. Thx for your help.

So has anyone got one of the high capacity batteries? How much longer do they last? Do you really notice the difference? Seems like they are only half as powerful again which is not much really.

Same as Taomyn here too. I'm finding I can talk with it for ages and it doesn't seem to chew the battery up too much. But actually playing on the phone particularly if that back light is running you can kiss the battery life good bye pretty quickly.
I remember the first day I had it I dont think I even got 6hrs out of the battery. But of course thats a boy with a new toy
Since then it's been 2 days.
Oh and any thoughts on the high capacity batteries availability in Australia?

Someone posted this link http://www.nixie.biz on another forum.
It links to an Italian store selling a 1250 mAh Battery. Looks the real deal. Maybe it would be worth hanging on until it comes into the wider market?
36 Euros is about £22.68 according to my 7650 convertor program!

Hi all,
I have checked out the italian site. The 1250mah battery is not available yet. I have emailed them asking when it will be available whether they ship to overseas. Will update you all if he/she replies.
If you are also looking for a high cap battery, a 1100mah will cost £14 free P&P in UK. Use the links above.
For slightly more value for money... depends on how you look at it, a 950mah will cost £11, also free P&P. Here is the link:
http://www.cellsavers.co.uk/acatalog/Cellular_Accessories_Nokia_7650_68.html
If you find them any cheaper do share it with us...

My battery has arrived!!! Ordered it on Thursday midnight... so effectively Friday morning, and it arrived on Saturday. Ordered it from Solware.com, good service. Only "complain" is that the 1100mah sign is stuck on with sticky-back paper, with a plastic file round the battery (except for the contacts of course). See pic. Will report on the batter life after a few cycles.
Adrian
PS note that I am charging it in my GF's 8250 so that I can still play with my 7650.

if the high capacity more then 950 mh,it wont fit in 7650!!!
I bought 950 mh lithium battery for my 7650 and paid for it 14.99 euro!! it fits in phone with a maximum limit,if abit bigger the battery more than 1 mm wont fit to phone!!! the battery cover is in away very weak,so it can easyly breakdown! I also bought the Nokia charger DDC-1 which I found very usefull!! my phone is always free,I dont need to charge the battery on the now always on NOKIA charger!!so I can always load the battery perfectly through the charger!charger costs in amazon.de 39 euro original assesories
