Memory problems!

Yo people!
Why is it that in the memory search thing, (you know, when you see how much memory is available in your phone) theres always space used up for the calander! Although i never use the calander, it takes like less than a KB. Well that doesnt matter, what does is, i made a new contact in the contact list, and then i deleted it, but STILL it takes space in the 7650's memory!

Can anybody help?

well, at 1st, i also puzzled about it. But u may want to check it a few days later for the contacts usage, it will reduced. I guess whenever u deleted contacts, it still remain somewhere in the memory space and it need sometime to cleaning up.

This is normal procedure in databases, compression is not done all the time. Wait some time and check again as cwleo8888 mentioned.

I have found that turning the phone off then on helps... but of coarse you don't want to be turning it off whenever you delete something.. :-)

As mentioned, this is a standard database method.

Open up access and enter one item in a table. Check the size. Then enter a 1000 entries and check the size again. Then delete those 1000 entries, but the size of the database will still be huge.

Unlike Access, the symbian database automatically compresses itself after a few days, or a reset. It really isn't anything to worry about.

As for the Calendar, although you haven't got any calendar entries, you still have settings, such as which default view you have set, etc. So a little memory will always be taken up.
