There is no limit for messagas or ringtones, but there is only 3,6 MB memory that is free to be used for pictures, messages, applications and so on. I cannot say how many of them you can save, because it depends on what other stuff you have installed in your phone.
And yes, you can send your pictures to a PC and open them in any photo editior you want. They are standard JPEG files.
Polyphonic ringtone means a ringtone that has many instruments. They are standard MIDI files. The 7650 supports 24 instruments in MIDI files.
