BAD RECEPTION ???

I have my 7650 for about 1 month already
abd i noticed the network reception is quite bad .
Is this due to my hardware fault or the software?
do anyone have experieced the same thing ?
I compared to my Ericsson T 39 and Nokia 8250
and my Nokia 7650 is always losing 1 or more signal bar to them
in the same place and same operator. and the worse thing is
the reception is decrease as i put my phone in the pocket of my pants !!!!
1 more complain is that the poly ring tones
is hardly noticeable thus i assume it is use less
unless there is a software upgade from NOKIA that could turn up the volume for it and most importantly to improve signal reception>

...have you tried to increase the speaker volume using recorder?
This definately did the trick for me concerning poly ring tones

Here in Finland, my signal bar gains compared to my 'old' Nokias

Thats the disadvantage of polyphonic ringtones.
Create a new profile for outdoor use, select ringtone "bee" for incoming call alert(is very loud),activate vibrating alert, set the ringing volume to maximum..

I've heard somewhere that the ringtones are too quiet becose of the symbian OS on the 7650,if so i gues it could be fixed in the next firmware,so if we spam mail nokia about it,maybe they could do something

yeah, mee too.
but even though the siglanl bar is there after i restart the phone, the signal bar is not stable
sometimes from full bar to 1 bar or no network again :(
what i can say is that the reception on this phone is actually quite bad .
Furthermore i live in Indonesia where the signal from the operator is very weak
thats why we need phone that have average or more signal reception capability.
but last week when i go to Singapore
for a holyday , i didnt experienced any of dropping signal.
so I guesss the 7650 reception is a little bit below average.
Hope they could fixed it in the next firmware :P

I've actually noticed an IMPROVEMENT on reception from my 6210...

But then again I live in an area of the UK where everyone can see at least 2 base stations no matter where they stand.

Mine actually has better reception than my old Ericsson T39m. And the network coverage in greece is crap.

The reception is better than my other half's 8250. I even get signal in a lift when the 8250 fails. Both on the same network mind you. Vodafone in UK.

Regarding ringtone. Midi are very very soft as ringtone. So is amr files. Best are the default old ringtone and wav files. I use a siren wav file from a website in my other post and it is loud...

I have noticed a slight improvment in reception compared to my old t68. The only problem that I get is that somtimes I can't get gprs where I normally can. It's happened a few times. Is it a network problem (orange uk) or is it a fault of the phone????

ahh well at least you dont have a pesky buzzing whenever you make a phone call on yours!

I dont know if its a defect or not I think I had this problem with another phone, and on top of that other ppl on this form have said they have a buizzing noise too so I dont know what the deal is.

The same buzzing noise here too, about ringtones,i agree with adrianbaby that wav's work a lot better then midi's (wonder why cant we use mp3's as a ringtone, imagine using whole songs, well, maybe not whole, but just the faforite part, with vocals and everything),i attached the one i use,it's funny and loud enough.
