Some people have suggested that 7650i would only be released in the USA. This does not sound logical. Usually models with "i" have been improved versions of existing GSM 900/1800 phones.

The 6310i is a bit better version of the 6310. It is tri-band, but has also been released in Europe.

Models that have been released for the U.S. markets only, have had totally different model numbers (e.g. 9210 vs. 9290).

Well i don't know much about this, but i had a expensive n7650 two weeks ago, and i would hate if 7650i was a much better phone.

However, i must admit that after a bit thought, i think that the only feature of this phone should be triband ability.

If a lot of other things (such as mmc 32mb right?, 800x600...) are in the phone, than nokia wouldn't call it 7650i, but most likely 7660, or 7670. And do you know why?

Because it happened the same thiong with the 3310/3330 phones.

The major difference was wap acess, and they didn't call it 3310i.

Please show me what you think about this...

I think that you are wrong!

the 3330 3310 are low end phones. The 6210 went to 6310, then 6310i cos it has java and is tri-band.

this is why there is speculation about a 7650i.....

Please tell me what you think about this.

i don't know if i didn't make myself clear, or if you didn't understand me...

What you are saying about 6210 - 6310, is different, because what changes is the model itself.

6210-6310 two different phones It's like 3310, 3410, 3510......

the second number changes, you see? 3x10

it's like, 7650 and 7750...

in this case, you said it, 6310 to 6310i added java and triband, so it s a minor improvement, that's why i think 7650i will only have minor improvements...

but that's me...

I understood perfectly... it is you who have contradicted - look:

"in this case, you said it, 6310 to 6310i added java and triband, so it s a minor improvement, that's why i think 7650i will only have minor improvements... " <-- YOU JUST SAID

"Because it happened the same thiong with the 3310/3330 phones.
The major difference was wap acess, and they didn't call it 3310i. " <-- YOU SAID BEFORE

so is wap a major improvement??? I dont think so. i think java, gprs and tri-band is fairly major!!!!!!!!! so why didnt they call the 6310 the 6410 - thats what you are suggesting.

silly.

Nokia not announced a phone named 7650i. There is a Tri-band phone on Series 60 platform and Nokia announced the launch of its newest imaging phone 3650 at the "Totally Board" event in Marseille.

Maybe nokia should just quit the numbering and just give real names to their phones... This is just too darn confusing.... 640 650 2100 3210 3310 3330 3410 3510 3510i 3650 5100 5110 5210 5510 6090 6100 6100 6110 6150 6210 6250 6310 6310i 6510 6610 6650 6800 7110 7210 7250 7650 8210 8310 8810 8850 8890 8910 8910i 9910 9910i 9210 9210i, again, who cares.... I don' know the difference anymore.... Maybe the N-Gage will break tradition and make things easier..... :-? :-? :-? :-? :-? :-? :-? :-?
