Connecting PocketPC2002 to Nokia 7650

Has anyone have any sucess connecting ANY PocketPC2002 devices (IPAQ, Cassiopeia E-200) to the 7650 via INFRARED?

Previous, I was able to connect my Cassiopeia to my T68 via Infrared with no problem. But NOT with the Nokia 7650. Nothing has been changed in the Cassiopeia configuration, but the phone itself doesn't seems to accept the infrared connection and dials in.

Can anyone help>

You could try running PEACEMAKER PRO on thePocket PC end to allow the different IR protocls to macth up.

Alternativly, I've installed an old fashioned terminal that addresses the IR port on the Casio, and then used COMMS onthe Psion Series 5mx to trasfer files via ymodem on the IR. Get a good comms pack on the 7650 an something similar might be possible.

But Peacemaker is here now. try that.

That's quite a troublesome solution, though, requiring a separate program just to connect the 7650 to the Cassiopeia. The T68 doesn't.

The 7650 can connect via IR just find to the PC to make it a wireless modem.

I thought it was an issue with the Cassiopeia, but since it can connect to the T68 previously, I doubt it.

I'd just like to point out I think it is the PPC at fault since in PPC 2000 it didn't support OBEX IR connections. Should be OK with some more recent versions.

Hi Rafe,

Actually all PPC2000 can connect to phone via IR for dial-up, as my iPaq and Casio E-200 can do so with the T68.

However, the implementation in Nokia is difference in that I must use the "Modem" program instead of the "infrared" in the Connection folder. In the T68, just turn on the IR and point the PPC2000 devices.

Lanwarrior2000,

I'm just a newbie with PPC I wonder if there is any setup that I have to do before connecting to the modem? Actually, I had a problem sending contacts from my Pocket PC to 7650 using IR. But no problem encounter when sending contacts from 7650 to Pocket PC. Thanks
