Wink A920 test - Half Baked.

Just found this over at my-symbian.

Notice the line UI Family: Crystal .That is the name of the user interface for the Nokia Comminactor family. The correct name should be Quartz.I wonder what else they forgot.

You can test your unit with the file i've attached. Its an exe file made by Michal Jerz. You can place it anywhere on the phone and run it from there.
Attached Files
File Type: zip test.zip (1.5 KB, 37 views)

Tried it on my phone (a920) it didnt work, i though symbian was based on Linux so why would it reconise an exe file. I did put it on the phone but it didnt reconise the file.

Symbian is not based on Linux, its based od EPOC.Linux doesn't have problems with the 3 characters extension. An exe file can be executed under Linux if its a native Linux binary and it has the attributes set to executable.Symbian can execute an .exe file. This file is a generic Symbian OS code, without any UI code involved, that is why it has the .exe extension instead of app and it can be executed on every Symbian device(from 9210 to A920).I don't know why it doesn't work,it should work, try renaming it to .app.

I created a folder called "test" put the "Test.exe" file in there, then renamed "Test.exe" to "test.app".

The test folder was in "C:\system\apps"

I got similar results. Just diff free mem, obviously.
