release delayed till 2Q 04 or beyond?

As DJKat has posted in the DGH700 forum, it would seem the release of the SX1 has been delayed even further, to the point that one would have to wonder if it is even economically viable for siemens to release it so far behind the 6600.

I for one would rather they released a semi-stable phone before xmas, no matter if I have to keep getting firmware updates for it.

With this new information to light, I may well be forced into buying the 6600, unless anybody knows of another non-flip symbian phone hitting the market before the new year :( or maybe I'll just stick with my trusty 7650 until it dies...

The reason I'm so reluctant to get the 6600 is because I know nokia only released it in line with it's incremental marketing strategy - it could have been a lot better than it is. I really don't want to support this!

I decided to ask Siemens myself, and got a very nice reply, within 30 minutes!

T-Mobile Germany have set the launch date to October/November, they are normally reliable.

I would say November though, since that's what Siemens are telling.

And don't belive the Siemens Customer Care, they are never well informed

evobit: I'm using the 6600, but in my opinion it feels a bit like a toy

I am with you on this Evobit. I said to myself not to buy another Nokia phone cause of their policy when I had a 6210. But I made the mistake and bought the 7650,that was not a so big mistake (it was the only Smartphone then if we don't count the communicators and the ericsson R380). Now that more alternatives are coming I am not going to make the same mistake...
