Unhappy backing up a920 on PC

Anyone else having problems with this ?

I have no problems with Synchronising Contacts or Calendar but when I try to back up using the a920 desktop suite. I can't !!!

I get the following messages

On the a920:
handset locked
CFM not supported on this platform
CFM bit not found. copy authorisation

on the PC
General Error on drives

My Handset then re-boots. Try again and same thing happens.

I phoned 3 last night. There answer was I can't. Surely that's not right. They then suggested re-loading Desktop suite. I did but problems still persists

They then say I need to re-load XP on my PC. that sounds a bit drastic.

I've never had problems with my previous Nokia 7650 Software, Ericsson r380 or Psion Revo or 5mx. All of which have now been removed from my PC

Can anyone help ?

You're not seriously advocating installing W2k3 just to get it to work are you?

That's even more drastic than reinstalling XP! :-p

In trying to solve my own problems I have found out that there is also a serial cable you can get for this phone to synchronise and back up. Apparently it never stuffs up (according to Motorola). Maybe you could try this avenue instead?

Have you tried the crack from Ruptor that gives you full acces to your phone? If not you can get it from me my ICQ # 10617781.

I'm also trying to get the new Firmware released in Australia + the Cd for flashing the phone. I will make it available on my ICQ. 128kbps downstream for other users.

With kind regards

Jan

Ps. none of this SW is illegal. The CD in Australia is free of charge and Ruptors crack has never seen Motorola.
