Yes.

However, 6600 software which use v7 specific features might not run on 3650.

I've been doing some testing on the 6600 lately (mostly J2ME) and everything runs fine. The 6600 is just a little slower than the 3650

more 16bit screen memory to move around, two color displays are quick!

Is your's a release or prototype model?

Have you tried any J2ME bluetooth stuff?

Sounds great that everything seems to work on the 6600.

But anyway - It does not seem obvious to release a new version that is not compatible backwards!

Let's hope it's a firmware issue, because in my opinion, 3650 IS very slow. If 6600 is even slower than it won't be slower, it would be stopped.

The 3650 slow?Don't get me wrong i don't own a 3650(Still stuck with a 7650) but i have tried one and IMO,its one of the most reliable and fast smartphones out there. At least a lot more faster and reliable then MS Smartphones.

That's a bit of a rash statement to make considering you don't own these phones.

I have a Smartphone, yes it does have its bugs, but until the 6600 there really isn't much to touch it at the moment.

6600 May not run some programs if they are tightly integrated into the system. An example might be an answer phone program. This is because it runs s60 version 2 which has some fundamental differences.

I have both too and for me the 3650 is an easy winner.

Rafe, that's good to hear. I really want to like the 6600 and I will be first in the queue to buy one - it looks a real winner.

I use my phone more for business use and the MS Smartphone does have some distinct Symbian advantages:

Here is a list of features that are very important to me.

Today Screen (Series 60 add on)
Auto email synchronisation (Series 60 add on)
MSN (Series 60 add on)
Agenda day view. View a whole day's appointments without scrolling. (Series 60 add on)
Alarm time on Today screen (Series 60 add on)
HTML browser (Series 60 add on)
Shortcut keys to programs as well as contacts
Contacts category synchronisation with Outlook
Sync different users with the same version of Outlook
Continuous sync with Outlook while connected

But then the SPV doesn't have:

Bluetooth
A Camera
A Video recorder
Voice dialling
A decent keyboard
T9 words that save forever

But then again, the SPV2 is out in November!
