128 mb memory stick duo(MAGIC GATE) compatible to p800?

just ordered a 128 mb memory stick duo(magic gate), i'm not sure if the stick will work on my p800. I'm having doubts wether getting the one with the "magic gate" or the one without the "magic gate:(whatever that is). Can someone explain how this feature works? tnx in advance.

Loads and Loads of thread on here explaining this in detail. A quick search should provide more info than you ever wanted to know. But in short, yes. Magic Gate works fine with the P800.

The 128MB Magic Gate Duo works like any other Duo. No probs. But if you actually want to use the actual Magic Gate technology, it doesn't work on the P800. Like I said, if u just wanna use it like a normal Duo, no problem there.

Just to clarify: There is no other type of 128 mb DUO except the MagicGate one. It works like any other duo, and works well with the P800. The "MagicGate technology" doesnt work with the P800 though. This technology is suppose to dissallow you to share your MP3s with others other than your device and your PC. It works on Sonys other devices like the Clie. But not on the P800. Who wouldnt want to share thier MP3s with others anyways..
