BT serial connection between PC and P800

I have previously posted questions on this forum on August 1 about having problems with my Bluetooth PC-card, 3Com 3CRWB6096. The card it self seems to work fine, but the software that comes with the card is CRAP (pardon my language). The 3Com Connection Manager is sooo outdated. I have the latest drivers which is available on 3Com’s homepage.

I manage to get a serial connection between the phone and my PC, but if I move the phone out of the BT range and comes back again the system fails to re-establish a serial connection. This happens every time. I would also like to tell that after taking a format of the internal memory and starting from scratch I have noticed that the Connection Manager has not come up with the error message “Unable to establish a connection, please try later”. I take it there has been something wrong with Bluetooth in the phone since I upgraded the software to R2D, but it seems it has fixed itself after the format of C:

I was hoping anyone could help me to find out if there is some compatible software with the 3Com product. I am trying to install this little program made by ephebe mentioned in this tread http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14640&postdays=0&postorder =asc&highlight=bluetooth%20connection%20automa tically&start=0

It looks like a handy little program that would prevent me from fiddling around establishing the serial connection between my phone and my PC. Of cause the Connection Manager that came with the PC card does not support this program mad by ephebe. So I am asking all my fellow P800 users if there is someone that has experienced the same problem as me and managed to solve this problem and are willing to help me. BTW, I am using a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D 7800 with Windows XP home edition.

I am looking forward to all your helpful replies to my question with scores of solution how to circumvent or solve my problem.

Can't really help your problem but how is your Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D?

I have the 8800 model from last year and its been nothing but trouble. First the enter key broke off, which Fujitsu said they wouldnt' fix under warrenty, (apparently its wear and tear!!!) they wanted £115 to fix it. I told them where to stick their 115 quid enter key and after some letters with trading standards they fixed the key ( I really didn't want to cause a fuss about when the lettering on the "M" key came off).

Next the unit started overheating and turning itself off. Sometimes after 1/2 an hour, sometimes longer. The fan would be on constantly and it'd still fry even if you left it idle. They took it back, replaced the Pentium 4 processor and the heat sink. It came back last friday.

It overheated and turned itself off yesterday...... guess what i'm doing after the bank holiday.

(I knew I should have ordered that Sony Vaio.)

Bottom line: Dont' Buy a Fujitsu Siemens laptop.

the best software out there today is the Anycom BT software.

Not sure where you can download it, though, it's not on Anycom's website anymore.

Exclamation Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D 8800

Hi,
I found your message after searching through google.
I have had a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D 8800 since Septmeber 2002. It broke after 6 months (was overheating) and they issued a new one to me in May 2003.
My new machine now suffers the same problem.
If this is a design fault with the model, it is possible to agrue that the laptop was not 'fit for puprose'. Under the Consumer Protection Act, I, and you, should either be refunded or issued with a new machine. But we need to prove this...and finding other customers who have encountered the same problems is the best way.
I paid a considerable amount (£1300) for this machine and I don't care what the warranty is - it certainly wasn't meant to last just 1 year!
Please contact me at edderenzy@hotmail.com and we can discuss the matter further. I would much appreciate your help!
Kind Regards,
Edward de Renzy-Martin
