3650 Operation without a sim card?
Hey all,
I write for IGN.com's wireless section and we're developing a wireless game in some of our articles. Nokia was nice enough to send us a 3650 to test out our builds on, the only problem is -- no sim card. And my current phone is ancient enough to not have a seperate sim card in it (everything's integrated). I've heard from a few people that there might be a way to utilize programs on the phone without a sim card, similar to how one turns the card off during a flight, so I thought I'd check here to see if anyone knew a way how? And if not, what's the cheapest place I could pick up a sim card? I only need something to start up the phone, I don't need anything with service or minutes necessarily.
Thanks in advance!

You can start the phone in flight mode with system tools from www.psiloc.com but you will still need i sim card to start the phone and install the app.

With the world's GSM penetration being what it is, and if you're somewhere else than Japan, there is bound to be someone with a GSM phone and a suitable SIM card nearby (at least for long enough to use the utility mentioned).
Any old, used SIM card for an inactive service will also do.
Or you can probably purchase a prepaid SIM card (and then make calls, too ).

I would think you'd need the SIM card as well. I've heard about some kind of safe mode that's activated by powering the phone while holding the pencil key, but it didn't do anything obvious to me. (The phone app was still running when I booted it up.)
I've seen the articles, but I was wondering if you planned to publish more info on the technical aspects of the game, and not just the art? (C++, OPL, Java, how many developers, that sort of thing.)
