Firmware Upgrade (To Ghostdog)
hi i am plannin to get my firmware upgraded to 4.46 from my current 4.39 before my warrenty runs out. although when i do go there for upgrade they go like they will upgrade on my risk only since the phone has been dropped a cpl of times. and yea my phone had gone through a lotta falls (bad ones). i am scared tht if i do upgrade and it goes dead, they wont take responsibility for it and thts buggin. and i dont have much problems with my current firmware as well and dunno if i shud wait for 5.06 if it does exist. to ghostdog : u have had a 7650 as same time i did and i think u are on 4.46 right ? has ur phone been abused or no ? i dont get the connection with the falling part and wht it has to do with upgradin the FW. when i do give the phone for upgrade i do format the entire thing and then only give it to them like i did from 3.12 to 4.39. plz advise ppl.

My phone has been dropped many times.v 04.39 is pretty stable, and IMHO,v 04.46 did not introduce major changes, just some small bugfixes, anyway,i regret not sticking with v 04.39

im pritty sure that your phone doesnt have to be in warrenty for a software upgrade, i seem to recall carphonewarehouse in oxford st saying this to me once. I got the latest upgrade and why not, might as well, wont do any harm anyway (long as you have some time to spare)

Changes made from version 04.46 to version 05.06:
Call and network management
-Voice mail indicator handling changed, now indicator is displayed correctly.
SMS
-USSD menu handling changed, now correct USSD menu is called.
Other changes
-Alarm Clock: Now alarm is ringing correctly when alarm is set at 8.00
-Advice of charge implementation improved. Now call cost limit is showed correctly on the screen.
-Memory allocation improved.
I am sure there are also a lot of small bug fixes in each new version, though..

Does that mean the alarm doesn't work correctly with all older firmware versions? I've never noticed that, although I set it to 8:00 sometimes...

I really don't know.. I did not make that list, just found it in another forum. Never had problems with the alarm, either...
