New: Antenna plug for the N9XXX-Series!!!

Hi folks,

53 months we had to wait after the appearance of the Communicators 9110, until there is now finally an antenna plug, with which we can connect external antennas to our Communicatoren 9110, 9110i, 9210, 9210i and 9290.
Only the company Olson from Taiwan (who brought us the AM90, a genial vehicle mount), can now close the gap, which Nokia never wanted to notice.
Immediately there is a universal antenna adapter.

The cable is about 40 centimeters long and has on one side an FME-plug and on the other side a 9210-Dataplug - however without contacts for Headset or the serial interface.

The distributor for UK, France & USA:
http://www.expansys.com/other.asp?man=OLSON
(only Antennas inklusive a special 9210/9290-Antennaplug)

The Distributor for Kuwait and other Middle East countries
http://www.fcc-kuwait.com/
I do not know whether you can buy only the adapter.

The Distributor for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Central Europe:
http://shop.9210.ch/shop/index.html
There you can buy the adapter as unique piece.
The price is 18 euro plus postage and packing.

Here you can find my test (in German) and many pictures:

Best regards

Hartmut

It'll probably proove most useful if you stick a nice big arial on your car, in a similar manner to CB Radios, and should give you much better reception when driving.

Do you think you can connect it to the original car antenna?

Hi folks,

yes, it increases the range and the receipt quality in the city and on the country enormously and reduces the electrical smog inside the car considerably.
But it is absolutely necessary to use a suitable (900 MHz / 1800 MHz) antenna. Such an car antenna has a length from approximately 15 centimeters (monoband 1800 MHz) to approximately 40 centimeters (dualband 900 /1800 MHz). Such a antenna does not really looks like an big cb antenna.
I prefer magnetic antennas, which I can remove...

Still two other ideas / suggestions:

- in Denmark and Holland I can use a good directional antenna (Yagi, Beam), to get from the holiday house a connection with a more favorable telephone network in Germany. So I can save the expensive rooming-costs.

- You can reach me now in my office room in the cellar on the Communicator, because I've attached an external antenna

Greetings from Germany

Hartmut

If I could get UK reception with it on the coast of France then I would be a very happy bunny while at work.
