Doublet lens
The images you get with 6600 is much better than pictures taken with 3650/7650 So, doublet lens give you more quality photos!

Achromatic doublet lenses ("achromat") are designed to eliminate chromatic and spherical aberrations inherent in singlet lenses....
This means that around the edges of the pictures you take you will get less of the fish eye effect...

Digital zoom
remember this lens will improve the fisheye-ness not necessarily make it go away.... it is also difficult to know whether this is any different from Nokia's other phones... it probably isn't

DIGITAL zoom is obviously done by software. It could be in a digital camera firmware or in an application on a smartphone.
I suppose it is a new feature of the Series 60 API, that would make more sense that just an "enhanced" Photo.app
but only time will tell.
Only thing for sure is that it's not an optical zoom, so nothing "mechanical".
