Adding application with security

hi Every Buddy

When I try to add an application on P800 with security (Keys generated using makekeys command with self signed certificate) as SIS file (generated using 'makesis' command), it gives an error "......". Is this because the certificate is not present in the Certificate Manager. If so, how do you add the certificate to the Certificate Manager when using emulator?

Third parties isn't supposed to add their own certs to this database and the way to do that isn't publicly disclosed.
Technically the signed SIS file verification mechanism is supposed to be supported by an arrangement towards third parties. In such a scheme typically the developer is granted a signing certificate per entity to be signed which that third party legally agrees to use for self-signing content that meets agreed criteria. That certificate is typically derived from a CA root cert which needs to be installed on end user devices in order to successfully verify the signed application. An easy to use means for consumers to get that CA cert onto their devices is required in such a case in order to enable download of signed third party content. In case of P800 so far the signature verification mechanism is used for applications signed by SonyEricsson in which case a root certificate exists on the device.
