hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahah ahahahaha
...
bonk [falls on floor]
er, there does not appear to be one yet.
If you check out some of the other threads hereabouts, even the Americans have great difficulty finding any. The only reliable stock comes out of Japan, and even then the chance of getting hold of one is about as remote as finding a German with a sense of humour...

[German accent] Ich taken grosse offence to that! [/German Accent]
ops: You're right you know! ops:
Just spoke to my father in law (Sony dealer, but so un-technical it hurts) and he can't get me one either.
Even 64Mb cards are out of stock at Sony til the end of May.

I pre-ordered one from www.p800er.com and received an email this morning, with an link to order it from their web site.
You've got three days to make up your mind, before they pass the offer on to the next person on their pre-order list...
I only needed 5 seconds to make up my mind - should be on it's way now... happy days are here!

I am willing to ship 128mb sticks to anyone in the UK that really wants some.. I had one about 3 weeks ago and can get more in by this week. I'm in the states. If you guys are interested let me know (email). I will ship them via Express mail w/ tracking from the states.. You will be responsible for shipping charges. I think $110USD (includes shipping fee) is what it would cost to purchase and ship to the UK. If you don't then just wait until they are released over there.

Hi Chris,
I pre-ordered my second one from p800er on 21st April, they informed me that it was in on 28th, paid on same day and delivered by fedex to me today 1st May? This is the second card I've received from them with no problems and their service is excellent.
Price was $119.99 + 24.99 shipping (2 day fedex) = $144.98
BTW - I live in Scotland.
I would either pre-order from p800er or take up bigfeat's offer
BIGFEAT - I'll be in California from 12th of May for 10 days, where are you getting the sticks? Retail or Internet?
Cheers

It's true, you won't find one in the UK.
However, they can be obtained because
... drum roll...
mine arrived this morning - yippee!
Try p800er.com. A little tip is not to use Fedex, they will grass you up to the customs and charge you for the privilege. p800er kindly marked my air mail package (which took all of four days to get here - the same time as Fedex) as being valued at $1. Consequently I didn't have to pay any import duty or VAT.
Thanks muchly p800er.
You could also try shop.brando.co.hk with whom I have placed an order.
I am now loading my 128MB Duo up with the stuff I couldn't yesterday - it's a shame it's so damned slow.

I'm getting mine straight from a Warehouse.. I'm in the Midwest. I got my first one for $60USD, but that was 3 weeks ago and it was direct from Japan.. These sticks are comming for a retailer in the States that I do business with often.. They do not have a website which is the only reason why I posed an offer to forum members.

@All
Thanks for the suggestions - I should have checked back here before now!
Found one on www.thetwistergroup.com for $120 (US) which is about £80 including shipping. 64Mb cards are about £65 and out of stock here so I'm happy enough with that price.
BTW twister group's site says they still have 4 in stock. They've sold 41 since 8:00pm GMT last night!

Hi Slangley,
I've had 1 x 64 and 2 x 128 cards recently sent from p800er all by fedex and I have yet to be charged duty, etc. I think it is just your luck if they do or not! I've received literally hundreds of fedex packages over the years and have only been charged a half dozen times. However, my mate recently got something posted from Canada and was charged duty??? I like your suggestion though, but would probably only use this method if the parcel was posted from US or Canada (safer?).
Nigel - Does that card writer do the magicgate memory stick duo (i.e. the tiny P800 one)? It doesn't mention it? If so, it looks like a good buy
Bigfeat - What is the US retail situation like in general for picking up 128 sticks walk-in? It sucks on this side of the pond?
Cheers

Here you are boys and girls. Doesn't get cheaper than this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3& ;product_uid=30931
With the Duo's ask the retailer to label it as a gift. Although the value maybe listed as one dollar, if customs open you'll be charged 17.5% + Admin on what they think the Duo is really worth. I ordered a Sony DSC-P5 from New York & was charged over $200 in VAT! Because the camera hadn't been released in the UK customs had to guess a market value for it!

@Bigfeet
Thanks for the link, but the problem with UK suppliers is they like to overcharge - £110 for 128Mb. Most US suppliers seem to charge around $80 so even with shipping it works out at less than £80
