IMAP Server Syncing Issues

Right, I have set my e-mail up for my IMAP server, it worked fine the first time I connected, collected all my email headers etc. However next time I connected it deleted all that ones I had deleted off the server but did not collect any new ones. This happens everytime, it deletes any that need to be deleted but never collects any new ones, even if there is nothing to be deleted it still wont get new mails!! Is there some kind of setting I've missed? Has anyone else had this problem? Help!!

has no-one else experienced this at all? its really getting on my nerves, it makes the e-mail function useless as I can only read my old mails. Is there a proper place where I can report this problem to Sony Ericcson?

Fine for me...

IMAP seems to work pretty flawlessly for me - aside from things like not marking a message as "replied" or even "read" on the server side. And of course, I can't get it to use the "sent" or "draft" folders on the server.

The way it checks for new mail looks a little odd though - it's hard to tell exactly what it's doing, but it looks like it checks the first and last messages on the server to see if it actually needs to get any new mail. Presumably you've been happily using the IMAP server from your PC for some time with no odd effects? There are no "odd" messages in your IMAP inbox, are there? Like maybe messages with odd datestamps?

I presume it's not an option for you to clear out your Inbox completely and see if that solves it? If you have the ability to create folders on the server, you could temporarily move all the messages in your Inbox into another folder from your PC...

It seems to be a compatibility issue between my IMAP server and the P800 client. What seems to be happening is that if I have 5 messages, 1,2,3,4,5 and I delete message 2 then the next new message will be put in slot no. 2 instead of being added as message 6. The P800 client seems not to realise this and won't collect the new message 2, which would tally with what woozle said. :(
