Nokia N85 - SMS Timestamps (phone's time instead of real time)

I have a N85 with the latest 20.175 firmware but it ignores the timestamps of SMS messages coming in and instead marks them with the phone's own time.

For example, if my phone is turned off and a message is sent to me, the message will appear to be sent whenever I turn my phone on instead of when it was actually sent.

In layman's terms:

Friend sends SMS message at 12:03 P.M. to my N85.
N85 is turned off.
N85 is turned on 3:28 P.M.
SMS message arrives and is 'received' at 3:28 P.M., not 12:03 P.M.

Does anyone else suffer this dreadfully annoying bug and offer any fixes?

Why do you switch off your phone? Simply leave it on (silent) and the incoming SMS will show the correct time.

Yes this drives me scatty too. Googling a bit I found that it's not the first Nokia to have this "feature" and that others have been corrected with firmware updates. Guess we'll just have to wait for Nokia and networks (who already have our money) to get their fingers out.
It surely is the most sorry bug in the whole sucky history of mobile phones.

But it WAS received at 3.28pm. Umm.... This could be argued either way, in Nokia's defense.

There is no defence for Nokia: how would you like it if all your incoming emails were only timestamped with the time that you switched on your PC? So you switch on your PC in the morning, and see that you received fifty new emails during the night... but they all now show the exact same time and date, with no idea of the sent time?

It's exactly the same for SMS/texts- it's totally useless time-stamping them with the phone switch-on time.

It's not an option to say "keep the phone on all the time"- if you travel a lot on planes for example, it's impossible.

This, maybe small to Nokia, but highly significant to me, would prevent me buying Nokia again unless I can first confirm that texts are timestamped properly...
