7610, 6630 or 6680???

Hi all, I'm new here. I need expert advice; I thought this would be the best place to get it...Ok, so I want a new phone. I loved the look of the 7610, flawless/outstanding reviews, though quite expensive. Then there's the 6630, not as nice as the 7610, but then I haven't tried the 6630 ever, just looked at in the shops. The 6630 is pretty cheap almost everywhere I look, which is a slight worry because its newer than the 7610 but the 7610 is quite a bit more expensive, on average- what does that say about the 6630? IVe read reviews of the 6630 and its really 50:50, some say its brilliant, whereas others say its absoloutely dreadful... However yesterday I saw a mate who had the 6630, and it looked better than I thought (than in shops which have the display dummies). Ive waited so long for an upgrade, and although I originally wanted the 7610, I feel it would be a bit stupid because the 6630 is newer, probably overall better on features, and just generally, a better idea for a new phone. Then there's the 6680, which I think looks GREAT, but it looks like it could be rather expensive when it's released.
Please, can someone advise me what I should do in this situation. (preferablly owners of these phones).

Thanks, regards.

i can suggest you to buy 6630... because 7610 is better in the case os design, but the abbilities and features of 6630 are nearly perfect... 6680 is just the 6630 with another look and its loosing the SPMark battle and there are not so much improvemenst in comparison with 6630... iam absolutely satisfied and happy with my 6630,which i had from November

Might be, if you already have a 6630. If you don't, then a 6680 is certainly an alternative to consider, IMO.

Thanks, regards.

No doubt, go for the N6680..

The 7610 look like a spray-colored banana, and the buttons are crap.
The 6630 look like the Enterprise spaceship from Star Trek, or some
plastic toy coming out of a Kinder Egg..

The 6680 looks awesome and has the best features, no doubt!!

6630

Hi!...

6630 and 6680 has the same feactures if we forget the dual camera ...

but 6630 itīs faster in all feactures, apps, interface, etc... because
of the 16 bits display instead of the 18 bits of the 6680 ...

Easy to understand... more bits to manage ... more loaded CPU ... slower operation

6630 and 6680 use same CPU speed (233 mhz) so 6630 goes faster...

and you will almost not notice differences on 16 bit display against 18 bits...
so itīs really not worth the slow down speed ...

if you get the 6680 .. you get almost same speed as 7610 ...

So... 6680 may be look better than 6630 for most of the people who like the traditional classic blocky square design (like 70īs and 80ī2 tv remote controls design) (i like it more the 6630 design more conffortable pressing buttons sense and keypad area). the 6680 itīs heavyer than 6630 ... 6680 is a little illusionary smaller (same thin for the hands if you donīt conssider the camera ring rubber and plastic on the 6630)...

thatīs my opinion..

cya!

Haha you are funny man.. The Nokia 6680 may be a little slower on benchmarks
because of the handling of the 262K color screen, but I doubt that it in day to day
operation is any noticeable different from the 6630..

Haha, you claim the Nokia 6680 (233Mhz) will be as slow as the
Nokia 7610 (120Mhz) due to the increased colors on the screen..

Haha, this is not creditable man!!! You really expect people to believe that
it takes another 100Mhz extra to handle the 262K color screen? Cause
that's what you are saying above!!

The only place where you'd see a difference is a graphics intensive application (a game or a graphics benchmark), if you look for it. For any practical purposes, there is no user-visible performance difference between a 6630 and 6680 (because besides the display and second camera, they are virtually identical in hardware).

Most of "de symbian apps" I've tried do work on my 6680 just fine. SmartMovie doesn't, for example, but most apps I used or have used on the 6630 do run just fine. And compared to my 6630 I see no "lagging" whatsoever.

sounds like a buggy phone messus, read - another X- so i suggest you buy the 6630, which is quite at good price nowadays. =The 6680 will be expensive and yet some firmwares due untill it's really compatible and ok.

also another camera on the same kind of processor ... sounds too slow for me.

christ..all the fella wants is opinions..not a bloody argument...i own the 6630..but ive used the 6680 exstensively...my opinion...the 6680 is certainly NOT an upgrade to the 6630...if it were..it would be a total joke...theres no hardware differences..just cosmetic...additional camera for vid calling..if you like that sort of thing...camera protection at the back..great idea...flash..262k screen...i personally don't like the look of the 6680...i find it very ugly...the 6630 has a nice look to it...and fits nicely in the hand..for watching full screen movies for example...in my store..they have been flying out the door...40 sold in one week...people clearly like it..and when demo'd....they are impressed...

6680 > 6630

I own a 6630 myself. Both are amazing phones and are a great showcase of new tech. 6680 has a slight edge in being smaller and having afew extras. 6630 is cheap now though and shares the same processor.
