Err.. have you tried downloading anything other than just the main screen? I havent managed to get anything downloaded successfully since.. :( It just goes to a white screen "Please wait" and a cancel button..

His blog seems to be very up-to-dated so I don't disconsider this information.
Just checked N8 OTA and via Ovi Suite... "No updates available"

So, it was announced today about PR2.0 on the N8 then?

Any release date given?

UPDATE

According to this...

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/...ty_focused.php

sometime in Q2 for "Anna", a version of PR2.0... possibly next month. Maybe, hopefully, probably.

Oh well... that's PR2.0... or should I say "Anna", cleared up.

I can unplug the N8 and head off to the pub then.

No, very vague...

GLOBAL Today we launch the Nokia X7 and Nokia E6, both of which come with a renewed version of the Symbian operating system. This version which has been referred to previously as PR2 is now known as Symbian Anna. It comes with a faster browser, improved text input, fresh, new icons and the latest version of Ovi Maps. Symbian Anna will also be made available for owners of the Nokia N8, C7, C6-01 and E7 in the coming months.

Nothing new there then.

My update and your post crossed.

In the meantime... just enough time for our local spammer, jaambutt, to get in a post. Oddly enough, his user name is exactly what I would like to do with his post.

it schucks big time. I think my E7 is a gorgeous piece of kit, but the software lets it down. Too many annoyances making it a PITA to use...

Just a few words about today:
Nokia, congratulations! I thought you wouldn't be so stupid announcing an annoucement, but you were able to sink even more!!

Now my question: why (why in the World) didn't Nokia release these updates little by little? No need of Anna, Beatrix, Candice, Deborah, Emma, Fabrizia, Glenda, Hilary, I... (well, by that time we will should have Windows Phone already ) Oh my. Why (why in the World) I still give a damn about Nokia?

And @ironass, the chinese source got really close! But I will not complain about him, because he might be those hackers which hacks the chinese firewalls! hahaha

I couldn't agree with you more HoneyMonster.

The same goes for my N8... great hardware but underpowered and lousey OS.

Six months ago, in my original review of the N8, I said that I felt that Symbian^3 was nothing more than a stop gap, make-do and mend, until MeeGo was ready. My opinion hasn't changed except for instead of MeeGo it's now Windows Mobile7 and to make Symbian^3 good enough to franchise.

Oh, and BTW, the video of X7's presentation still shows Nokia Sans font. Clearly an #EpicFail, since Nokia was so proud of making the Pure font.
