from pevious experience with other phones and pda's the infa red built into these devices are very weak and not designed to beam more than a couple of meters, so the idea of controlling your telly from a distance is not possible, although i have not tried this on a n80

I use the remote control that came with my telly to control it ....(or my sky box)

I think most of the AAS Forum users want to do new things on the N80 simply to prove it's possible. I wonder who has the most apps installed on theirs? (Perhaps I should start a new thread).

TomTom ver 6 is about the best GPS software your gona get on a N80 with symbian, if the nokia had windows ce, you could get the latest tomtom with latest maps and cameras etc. as it has`nt, I would put the phone on the floor, in a nice comfortable position, squat over it and then shit on it.

yes, nice scentiment Jedi, however back on topic, has anyone written a IR remote program? Would be cool if there was...
