O2 UK with an N95

I'm coming back to a symbian phone after a sucky year with a 6280 phew! On its way from O2 as we speak.

Having read through quite a few posts I realise that the inbuilt maps feature has to download the maps as it goes? I'm really hoping this isn't so for me as it is very expensive to do this living out in the sticks.

from O2's site:

"GPS
With on board satellite navigation and an additional 1Gb memory card that comes in box preloaded with UK map planning your next trip will be a doddle. For more information on this feature"

Do I understand this as it meaning I won't have to connect to the net to use the maps gps function?

TIA!

Indeed, with the preloaded maps theres no need to download them. Even if you didnt get the mpas with it, you could have downloaded them via PC and installed them onto your memory card.

However, if you have AGPS on (firmware version 12 only), then this will cost you in data. Very small amounts, but some networks have a minimum usage - i.e. using 5kb is as good as using 200.

Ah so in other words, if you don't want to be charged at all then don't use the AGPS, thanks for the info matey

You still have to pay for Voice navigation and all the extras though.
