Visible PW

Hi All,

How can I stop seeing my email or other passwords show before the letters turn to the standard *****?

Regards,

Berne

You can't, at least as far as i know, there's no such setting, and never has been on symbian phones.

Shield your screen. What's the problem?

Your Thougts

Hi There,

I just felt I could be showing info that a wiser E90 owner may not need to display.

Perhaps I should have rephrased my post along the lines of " Can other elements ( appart from appropriate authorities ) view my password details when I enter my email passwords as my passwords are momentarily shown on screen before they revert to ******* ect?

Seems initially though that even if other elements can see my personal information, there is not a lot I can do about it? It would seem to me though that if one is paying a software security corporation to watchdog your E90 that one could expect five star ( excuse the pun ) security in using their smartphone, that would include in my view not revealing passwords at all.

What are your views on the matter.....anyone?

Thanks for the input so far,

BernardF1

P.S. Thread title should of course read " Your Thoughts".

I think this is because of keypads, in that you have to see which letter your selecting. Obviously with the qwerty on the E90, this is redundant, but obviously it wasnt thought about/bothered with to adjust it for the E90.

I dunno if it's me being slightly thick here but i'm not entirely sure what your concern is. I think possobly you are concerned about 3rd parties being able to see your personal information because you're using a smartphone. I think you'll find that if your using a secure wlan network or a packet data connection, your info should be transmitted accross the internet as securely as if you were using a pc, mac or otherwise, as all the standard protocols and encryption methods are used just the same.
Sorry if i'm getting the wrong end of the stick but hope this puts your mind at rest.
