Samsung Innov8 USB not working

Hi i just bought i brand new samsung innov8. in the box there was a usb cable, but for some reason when i try to connect it to my computer, it says 'unknown device'. i had already installed the drivers prior to plugging it. i have tried connecting it to different computers but i still get the same error. i have tried changing the USB connection mode to but its still the same thing. any advice?

I had a problem with the micro USB cable shipped with my i8510. My PC would complain about a power surge on the USB port and the phone didn't see the connection.

I replaced the cable with 2 micro USB cables bought from www.lindy.co.uk

Now synching and charging work perfectly.

Question

this may seem a little obvious but have you installed the drivers that came on the disk? Download the latest pc studio from the samsung website to be sure you have the most up to date version.

mine also charges, have you got a solution yet?
i have realised that my bluetooth and wifi aren't working, could this be due to connectivity being turned off or something?

think you may need to insatll pc studio suite if you have not already.

make sure that you set your phone to connect to pc studio, you "should" have no problems

I have recently had the same problem - yet my USB cable in conjuction with PC Studio 7 was working fine. Then for some reason (with no input from myself) the phone would not be recognised by any pc that I installed the drivers/pc studio onto. The store which I bought it from suggested flashing it and upgrading the firmware which i am not confident in doing.

i fixed it about an hour ago by restoring the phone to factory settings which required a code which is "00000000" it then reboots your phone. I unplugged the phone before I did this.

Either way, when I plugged in the innov8 again it automatically identified the phone through the USB like it had previously and worked!

Hope this helps!
