Seriously, don't you guys have an editor?
Sorry this is my fault. Usually everything does get double checked, but I was the only one if the 'virtual office' when this was published. One of the perils of online publishing / blogging (take your pick) is a need to move very fast. Quite how I failed to spot that when reading it back though is another debate!

Fortunately, the content makes up for it (especially yours personally, I have to say).

I guess part of what contributes to the value of the site is the speed with which the articles get published, so perhaps, like you say, it's one of those things we need to put up with, else we end up getting less value overall. Perhaps...(perhaps, perhaps).

very nice
but i think it should be called the samsung IMIT8

samsung are doing the far eastern classic of copying western innovators
and doing it harder faster stronger better (and cheaper)

excuse the pun.

theres no samsung model that isn't a copy of another handset in someway.

but thats ok - they pick what sells and do a 'better' version.

see eastern car manufacturers accent.

G810 vs. i8510

How come the G810 had both optical zoom and xenon flash yet this has neither?

Dude, the criminals still move full speed, it's just your video of them grabbing your shiny new phone that will be slow... :P
You miss the point... The problem with a lot of cameras can't capture at 120FPS so if you was to witness a crime with your camera, slow motion has a better chance of capturing quick movements. e.g. someone running away from the scene. Capturing the face etc...
You can even view it back in slow motion for the police.

I REALLY hope you're right. The N96 - a niche device for DVB-H fans only - is in no way a successor to the N95.

At MWC, the Nokia rep told me it's more, particularly because the N96 has a hardware (!) H.264 decoder.

(Of course, it'll still be under 2 hours, I think.)

A real Xeon (or anything) flash requires a bulky (!) capacitor. This is why very few phones / PDA's have them.

(Of course, if I were Nokia / other manufacturers, I'd consider providing an external, easily connectable module to house the capacitor(s) - like the camera module with the Ericsson t68(i). If you need to take shots with the flash, you just insert it into a connector on your phone and you're set.)

This device looks really nice. The proof will be in how all of these features create a compelling mobile experience. Samsung is always about pushing things to the edge and so I hope that in addition to the hardware and software features that the user experience takes a step up.

From the look of things here and a video that've seen, the basic S60 UX remains, and so I guess it would not be right to expect too much.

This would totally rock as a device the US could use, but like the N95 when it was released, it will have a niche audience a few years before being even recognized by a competitor that will offer something similar

We'll have some good coverage on Monday (assuming I spend the rest of my weekend working on it).
