New N95 Owner

I apologise if these have been asked before but ive done a search and cant quite find what im after so if anyone could post a link to my answers if they are on here already id appreciate it.
I have just got an N95 with 8gb card (Orange's way of not supplying the N95 8Gb lol) and wondered if its best to debrand it and update it if needed. Im not sure how to find what FW im on so not sure what its running.
If it is best to debrand how do i go about doing it.
Also ive installed the Slick IM appication and wondered if anyone has experience of it and what sort of data usage it has?
Ive been checking my Packet log but it doesnt seem to rise while using Slick.
I think thats it for now really. Im on the hunt for good applications and ive found that good/best post so im trundling through that.

Thanks in advance guys!

I dont know about debranding it but you should definitely update the firmaware as it brings many advantages such as elimination of bugs and improvements in performance.

You can check what version of FW is installed on your phone by entring
*#0000# on your phone. The latest one yet is V20.0.015.

Invalid certificate means that you have to obtain a certificate from the developer where you usually pay for it. As you might read many posts about rotateme that its no longer possible to obtain a free certificate.

But try this site its got loads of free apps www.series60v3.com

I hope this answers your question.

Hi Drizz !

Fellow Suffolk user here I just got my N95 today and have successfully debranded using Nemesis Service Suite and NSU. Now running v20.0.015 instead of the crippling v13 FW that Orange have installed.

Check here for some good apps....

N95 Product Code FAQs and how to change your product code

would be debranding? Youve been doing this for a while. Us newcomers wouldnt think that debranding involves changing product codes im sure unless its just me...
