Closing Down Java Apps by accident

Hello!!

Is there any way you can stop java apps closing down when you accidently press the red 'end call' button? Its really startin to annoy me!!!

Unfortunatly not, this is the default behaviour for all programs. Developers can't even trap the command and stop it from happening programmatically (unless there's something obscure in the Symbian stuff I've missed). The only real hope is that Nokia alter the firmware in the next release to put it back to the old behaviour.

It's possible for the native applications but the app must be signed and there's a dev option to set it to 'system application' and the red key won't close it. Java - no luck.

ok well how do i set the dev option for the signed apps, this would be great for the ones that aren't java

On dev option I ment the developer has to build this function into the application. Like in Agile Messeneger for e.g...

And Profimail. It's one of the things I like about this program - press the red button and the program just goes to th e background. If only others were handled the same way.
